Stephen is passionate about your health and wellbeing. He first studied physical education, human movement studies and sport science. After gaining some work experience, he returned to complete a Master’s degree through the Medical Faculty at the University of Cape Town (UCT). Stephen was the first Biokineticist to come through the UCT Programme, training under some of the foremost Sports Medicine specialists and clinicians. Using these skills Stephen ran his own practice where he focussed on musculoskeletal injuries and exercise rehabilitation. At the same time, he was Programme Coordinator for the Western Cape Heart Foundation Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme. 

Academic teaching roles at the University of Zululand and Wintec, training Biokineticists, Clinical Exercise Physiologists, Sport Science students and massage therapists kept Stephen at the forefront of education, research, and practical training. Over 25 years, Stephen has used his skills to work with national and international athletes and teams. He was part of the NZ Health Team at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India.

Stephen’s aim is to use his unique blend of knowledge and skills to try and restore function, balance and movement to each individual he consults with.

 Spa Therapist of the Year - 2015     

Ellen is an enthusiastic massage therapist, specializing in various styles of massage.

She began her journey studying beauty therapy in 2015 where she graduated with honours, and was awarded Spa Therapist of the Year. She found a passion for massage working in the beauty field where she offered deep tissue, relaxation and hot stone massage. With an expanding demand for her massage, she decided to upskill and returned to study at WINTEC, 

Since graduating, Ellen has been involved in many sporting events, massaging athletes at marathons, Rugby Sevens, and the Ironman Challenge. 

Ellen has a great interest in the human body and passion for improving the wellbeing of her clients.

Heather Burden - Director

B.A.; M.B.A. PG Dip (Project Management)

Business and Practice Manager

Heather brings a client-centred and service-oriented approach to running the business. She brings experience from working in University Financial Aid Services and Faculty Business Management, to Business Associate for an International Project Management Group. Heather was Business and Practice Manager for the Hamilton Eye Clinic for over 5 years before joining Healthy Ventures.
